Guide to Applying Our Transfers
This guide provides a comprehensive step-by-step approach to applying transfers effectively and efficiently, ensuring high-quality results. Follow the instructions closely for the best outcomes.
Step 1: Prepare the DTF Transfer
Ensure your DTF transfer design is ready for application. Make sure it's clean and free of any debris.
Step 2: Position the DTF Transfer
Carefully place your DTF transfer design in the desired location on the garment. Ensure proper alignment and placement.
Step 3: Pre-Press the Garment
Pre-press the garment for 10 seconds using your heat press machine. This step helps remove excess moisture and wrinkles, ensuring a smooth application surface.
Step 4: Apply Heat and Pressure
Set your heat press machine to the appropriate temperature and time based on the fabric type you're working with (refer to our suggested settings below). Apply high pressure during pressing for optimal adhesion.
Cotton Fabric:
Temperature: 165°C (329°F)
Time: 20 seconds
Pressure: High
Polyester Fabric:
Temperature: 140°C (284°F)
Time: 15-20 seconds
Pressure: Medium
Nylon Fabric:
Temperature: 135°C (275°F)
Time: 10 seconds
Pressure: Low
Blended Fabrics:
Temperature: 150°C (302°F)
Time: 15 - 20 seconds
Pressure: Medium
Heat-Sensitive Materials (e.g., Spandex):
Temperature: 130°C (266°F)
Time: 10 seconds
Pressure: Low to Medium
Step 5: Peel the DTF Transfer
Once the pressing is complete, peel the transfer according to its specifications. It can be a hot peel (peeled right away) or a cold peel (peeled when it's cold). Peel carefully to avoid damaging the design or garment.
We Source a Special Transfer Our Transfers can both be peeled hot or cold.
Hot Peel Tips:
- Peel the transfer after waiting 10 seconds after pressing.
- Apply high pressure during pressing for best results. Especially thin line designs.
- Use a fast peeling technique.
- Exercise caution to prevent damage to the design or garment during peeling.
Cold Peel Tips:
- Wait until the transfer is completely cold before peeling to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Peel accordingly

Step 6: Optional Repress
For added protection and durability, consider placing a Teflon or transfer sheet over the applied transfer and repressing for a few seconds. This step can enhance the longevity of your design.
Conclusion
You've successfully applied a DTF transfer to your garment! Follow these simple instructions for excellent results, and enjoy your custom clothing.
